A Healthy Life workshop: 06/02/16
A lively workshop looking at using different theoretical approaches to help clients deal with health and illness.
During this workshop we will be dipping into three key theoretical approaches, looking at:
- what psychodynamic theory has to say about the effects of illness in childhood and the way we learn about health
- how existential therapy can help clients to explore chronic illness such as diabetes, and the changes that accompany aging
- how transactional analysis (namely Karpman’s Drama Triangle) can be used to explore the interactions and family dynamics when a loved one becomes ill or requires care.
This will be an interactive day with plenty of lively group work and case study analysis. There will also be networking opportunities, and the chance to find out about working in other settings.

This was a great workshop full of sharing and learning. We had some teething issues at our new venue (fancy air conditioning brrr!) but generally we are really pleased. Lots of space and lovely jacket potatoes for lunch Mmmmmm!. Watch this space to find out about the next one which will probably be around May time, and in which we will be looking at mindfulness.
