First Steps invites Cinnabar workshops to Leicester
We’re really excited to be putting on two workshops in an exclusive arrangement for the First Steps volunteer counsellors in Leicester.
First Steps provides free, confidential telephone and face-to-face counselling for male (13 years and above) survivors of sexual abuse and rape and their supporters. The service gives people an opportunity to be listened to without being judged, blamed or told what to do.
Cas Beckett from the agency told us: “So many agencies have limited funds to send their teams out [to workshops] and I wish more would see the benefits of having it for their whole team. This kind of investment by agencies pays off big time for everyone. Most of my team stay for 3 or more years which is a massive commitment and without them I would have no service delivery so it’s a win, win. This is the best support I can give the team for all their volunteer hours and commitment they give to First Step clients. They are worth spoiling.”

We had a great time in Leicester on the 16th May delivering a workshop on dealing with the victims of sexual abuse. A lovely group of counsellors and a smashing venue for teaching. We’re looking forward to the next one in September 🙂
